About this course
Pediatric Advanced Life Support, commonly known as PALS, is designed for healthcare professionals who direct or participate in the management of cardiopulmonary arrest and other cardiovascular or respiratory emergencies involving pediatric patients. Pediatric emergencies can develop rapidly, so effective response requires recognizing deterioration, responding systematically, communicating with the healthcare team and participating in coordinated emergency care.
Who should take this course
PALS is intended for healthcare professionals whose responsibilities may include responding to pediatric cardiopulmonary or cardiovascular emergencies. Depending on applicable course requirements this may include professionals working in hospitals, emergency departments, pediatric units, critical care settings, ambulatory healthcare facilities, emergency medical services, urgent care environments and other healthcare settings where pediatric emergency response may be required.
